Overview
You can propose changes to an existing course or program using Coursedog’s Curriculum Management platform. The overall process is the same for both; what differs is where you go to get started.
-
To edit a course, navigate to Curriculum Management > Courses.
-
To edit a program, navigate to Curriculum Management > Programs.
How to Do It
Step One: Follow the above path to find and open the course or program you wish to edit.
Step Two: Select “Propose Changes” on the right-hand toolbar under “Actions”.

Step Three:

Step Four: Fill out the fields.

Step Five: Click “Submit Proposal” on the right-hand toolbar under “Actions”.
Share Proposal
-
If you want to collaborate with your colleagues on a proposal, you can do so by sharing the link (copy it from your browser’s address bar and then share via your preferred method, e.g. email).
-
By sharing the link, you can collaborate with others directly within the Coursedog platform before submitting your proposal.
View Changes
-
When you’ve worked extensively on a change request, it can be easy to forget what changes you have made. Coursedog solves this by tracking any changes and making them available.
-
At any point while suggesting changes, click “View Changes” on the right-hand toolbar under “Actions”. A “Current Changes” modal will pop up.
-
You can use this feature to easily track the changes you have made and make sure everything is accurate before submitting.

Direct Edit Warning Message
-
If a user attempts to navigate out of the course or program record while they’re in Edit mode, a warning message will display.
-
The user will be prompted to select “Yes'' or “Go Back to Editing”.

Proposals via the Curriculum Homepage
-
In some cases you might be able to propose changes to a course or program from the Curriculum homepage by selecting “New Proposal” under “Actions”.
-
Note that proposing edits this way could result in the creation of a new revision. If your SIS doesn’t support revisions, you should avoid proposing edits this way and instead follow the steps outlined above.
